Sarita Reynolds

Sarita Reynolds is a Santa Barbara–based contemporary abstract artist whose paintings combine layered color, texture, and excavation, exploring the interplay between time, texture, and memory. Using tools such as palette knives, scrapers, and brushes, she layers paint in successive stages—building up the surface only to scrape or sand it back, revealing glimpses of what came before. This push and pull between spontaneity and control mirrors broader themes in her work: the tension between permanence and impermanence, and the beauty that arises from disruption and repair. Her works are held in private and corporate collections across the U.S. and Canada.
