BEATRIS BURGOIN
"An idea catches my attention, circles my mind, and inspires me to create. My process is organic and ever-changing, like clouds in the sky—full of discovery. Light is my main influence, especially its subtle contrast with darkness. Limiting my palette to the three primary colors and white gives me the freedom to create any hue I want. It’s like conducting a color orchestra."
Based in Santa Barbara, California, Beatris Burgoin is a self-taught modernist oil painter known for her expressive use of texture, color, and light. Born and raised in southern Baja California, Mexico, she grew up in an artistic family that nurtured her creative instincts. She began painting at 19 while recovering from a car accident—an experience that marked the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey.
Over the past 25 years, Beatris has developed a distinctive style using only the three primary colors and white, allowing her to explore an infinite range of hues with striking harmony. Her intuitive and experimental techniques, shaped without formal art training, give her work a sense of freedom, depth, and personal discovery. Her art has been acquired by collectors across the globe, including Europe, Latin America, the Western Pacific, and North America.

Pedro De La Cruz
Pedro De La Cruz, a self-taught artist born in Tijuana, Mexico, and now based in Santa Barbara, is celebrated for his bold use of color and expressive depictions of everyday life. Drawing from his Jalisco and Sonoran heritage, De La Cruz creates emotion-filled tableaux that poetically portray culture, joy, and belonging—rooted in his own story of sketching as a child, selling popsicles to help support his family, and finding solace in art.
Blending influences from post-modern colorists and cubists such as Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, Kahlo, Warhol, and Basquiat, De La Cruz has developed a singular visual language—one infused with warmth, rhythm, and heart. Working quickly in acrylics and ink, he embraces spontaneity and raw emotion, painting “in the moment” to capture fleeting feelings before they fade.
Inspired by Santa Barbara’s Old Spanish Days Fiesta—a tradition since 1924 that celebrates the region’s cultural history through music, dance, and community gatherings—De La Cruz offers a visual tribute to this beloved event. His vibrant, expressive paintings capture the essence of Fiesta: its joy, resilience, and power to bring people together.

This summer, we are so pleased to present "Blue Skies, Shimmering Seas", a luminous five-year journey through Santa Barbara, bringing Brad's East Coast mastery to the California coastline with a series of plein air paintings that capture the region’s radiant light, lush gardens, and iconic architecture.
From golden-hour coastlines to sunlit bougainvillea, Betts’s plein air paintings evoke the rhythm, beauty, and soul of the American Riviera. All painted on site here in Santa Barbara, he has captured the light and depth of this beautiful place we call home.

Mark Russell Jones
Mark Russell Jones is an artist based in the Central Coast of California. In his latest series of works, the theme of ‘Sacred Synergy’ emerges as a profound exploration of the interconnectedness between nature and human existence. His minimal paintings in this series are characterized by large fields of color and deceptively simple compositions.
The canvases are built upon multiple layers of unseen hues, blending into a rich and vibrant layer of luminous surfaces. His evocative, meditative paintings, like dark mirrors, invite the viewer into an inner space for introspection and existential contemplation.
Jones aims to distill his art to its essential emotional experience, believing in color's potential to express complex human emotions. By stripping away extraneous details and depictions, he creates a direct connection between the viewer and the canvas, seeking to elicit feelings of awe and visceral experience.

Mick Victor
Mick Victor’s evocative and layered works explore the intersection of materials, textures, and form, creating dynamic compositions that transcend their individual elements. Working intuitively with oils, acrylics, paper, canvas, charcoal, photography, and found objects, Mick sees these tools not as singular mediums but as an evolving dialogue—one that shapes the narrative of each piece in unexpected ways.
Mick’s work in art and design is firmly rooted in his multi-disciplinary approach. From his earlier professional work in graphics, to photography to mixed media and design, he has always insisted on looking beyond common standards of process and production, believing instead most creative works can be infused with more life, truth and impact if they are allowed to freely evolve thorugh different resources and work stages.
